Is it possible to specify that the Uploads folder is somewhere other than the install folder.

BugNET is installed on the c:\ drive of my server, but this drive is small, and I would like to store the attachments on another drive.  How can I specify this?

Current release versions don't have an option to relocate the uploads folder. You might be able to either

  • map "unused" disk space on the machine as the ~uploads folder (format unused disk space, but don't assign a letter, assign a path)
  • or you might attempt to use symlinks, with tools such as Sysinternals tool, Junction

Supposedly Vista and Win7 allow for symbolic links, but I don't have an install to verify or walk through the steps.

Figured it out.  Kinda obvious really.

Rename the Uploads folder in the wwwroot (I called mine Uploads2).  Then create the Uploads folder where you want it to be.  Then in IIS, create a virtual directory called Uploads pointed to your desired location.  Easy.
