Setting up Email Notifications

Hi,

I am trying to setup BugNET for my project. I have configured the SMTP server settings (which I have been using in other Bug tracking systems and these were working absolutely fine).

But when I am logging a bug/issue, I am not seeing any email sent to the members of the project.

Secondly, I have not been able to understand the use of MailBoxes while configuring the project.

Please, suggest.

Email notifications are only sent to users who subscribe to issues in the notifications tab, or get assigned an issue. Also check the application log for any error messages.

Thanks for replying!

This means an individual has to apply for notifications per issue basis or the emails will be going to the person for whom the issue have been logged, according to my understanding.

Is there a way that a email group is configured or some set of emails are configured, and for every change people get the notification ?

Hi Rishi,

The people who automatically get emails are the Project Managers and the person to whom the call is logged.

The user can click on the notifications tab on the issue screen and can choose to receive notifications.

In version 0.7.921.0 project managers can assign additional people to receive notifications.

About your group question. One way of doing this is to create groups on your email server.

Call them Project1Group@domain.com and Project2Group@domain.com then assign the correct members to the groups.

Then create two users in BugNet (Group1 and Group2) and assign the group you want to the notification on the issue.

I have 0.7.921.0 and the projecct managers can't assign people. I want them to be able to, what do I need to do to make that happen?
