I've configured the POP3 email settings and it successfully deletes the emails from the mail server but issues are not being created.

There are no errors in the log.

Perhaps I don't know where to look for automatically created issues (I'm looking in the Issue List for all issues) or I need to use a special format when sending in bugs via email?

I see that others have gotten this to work, so obviously I am missing something.

If anyone has an idea as to what I've got wrong I would appreciate it.

Mont did you get it to work? I get the same behaviour as you, email gets deleted but no issue gets created.

I read in a couple of threads they mentioned aliases but I am not quite sure what they mean by that, in the body and subject of the email I put the project name and type, I also created a user that matches the pop3 user but nothing, if you ever find out let me know or anyone that has made it work plese post how to configure it, thanks.

Unfortunately I have not gotten this to work.

I also have not had a chance to try it with the latest update (though I didn't see any bugs that appeared to relate).

Mont I am using the latest build 0.7.891.0 

Can anyone that has been successful running this feature be so kind to post the steps to get this working.
I know the following:
1. Uncomment the mailboxlreader module in the web.config
2. enable and enter information for the POP3 account in the Application Configuration.
3. and create a mailbox for a project. ???????

On step 3 I created a user with the same name as the POP3 account and the same email and assigned the mailbox to this user. 
I have read on one of the post that the person that tested this feature had 2 emails one without Aliases that bugnet deleted but did not create an issue and the second one with aliases that bugnet created an issue, can someone explain what the aliases are?????

Mr. Davin Dubeau can  you please give us a hand here, if I get this feature working I can do a demo for my company and get it approved, thanks.
