Hi

First of all - BugNET is AWESOME!

We have just upgraded from version 0.7 to version 0.8.186.0.
One of the great features in v0.7 was the search functionality - has the search control been replaced by the Queries in v0.8?

All our users miss the old search function… a lot…
Any chance getting the old search again?

Thanks

Thanks, there are a few things people have requested in the 0.8 series that they miss from 0.7:

  1. Having an issue filter directly on the issues page
  2. Include a "My Issues" page again that consolidates all issues across projects for that specific users.

From feedback, I can say that both of these are very important to our users so we will work on adding them back into the application soon.

I have also been working on the full text search (called advanced search in 0.7). This will certainly be completed before next release.

Features I am including (feel free to request more):

Search text within the following fields:

1. Issue Title and Issue Description
2. Comments
3. Attachment Description and Filename
4. History (Search old and new test) eg "01/01/2010 smoss changed 'Bob' to 'Trevor'" when you are looking for bob

The biggest problem is diplaying the results neatly. EG if a search result came back because of its attachment name, it should be grouped seperately with other attachment hits. Duplicates are also a headache.

There are also about three different Controls in the BugNet project which perform filtering or searching. These should be consoldated into a single consistient control.

Good to hear that the search functionality will be re-introduced. Despite all of the awesome improvements that 0.8 includes, we have decided to not upgrade :(

Being able to quickly and arbitrarily filter the issue list down by asignee/milestone/priority/etc is a feature our team just can't live without.
