Hi Stewart,

Well I added that section round the <system.web> section in the config, deleted the temp compiles and restarted IIS and its still doing the same thing.  Should I revert to an out-of-the-box bugnet config file now?

Sorry to be a pain, what other tweaks did you do on bugnets config?
