0.67 to 0.7.832

I haven't been having much luck performing my upgrade.

Some things I know I have to do prior to upgrading

Modify any duplicate email adresses
Ensure admin password is greater than 7 characters
Add a field Version to the HostSettings table with a value of 0.6.7
Ensure that the BugNET virtual directory in IIS is set to use .NET 2.0

I then run the upgrade using Install.aspx and encounter an error that states Web.Config cannot be updated. I see some string replace functions that seem to be failing. I'll add the exact error when I have a chance to try out the upgrade again.

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully upgraded from 0.67 to 0.7.832. If so, maybe they can share their experience and hopefully provide some guidance. --RN

Hey,

Did you give the proper permissions to the BugNet directory?  The installation will update the web.config with a new machine key and if it doesn't have the proper permissions it will error.

Re: 0.67 to 0.7.832

After I saw the error for the first time I went and explicity added WRITE privilege for the ASP.NET account on Web.config.  The error persisted on the next attempt.  Maybe I need to add the privilege for the IIS anonymous user account?

Well, to be safe I reset the permissions on the BugNET parent object propagated to the child objects.  Beyond the NTFS permissions, do you think I would have to enable the Write option in IIS under the Virtual Directory properties for BugNET?

You should not have to write under IIS.
