I've had a couple issues while upgrading.

  1. Install.aspx does not work if you are logged into the app. To get around this I had to clear my cookies / active sessions. This should be handled properly by skipping over any sort of authentication, or even require authentication to upgrade maybe?
  2. Upgrading cleared all my projects. Why is this? It's a good thing I had a backup. I wasn't expecting all my data to be removed. Is this because I upgraded straight to RC2 and not first the beta, RC1 and then RC2? Will I have this issue with the final release?

You need to upgrade to RC1 first because of the extensive database changes. Once this is done you can upgrade to RC2.

I'm currently running 0.70942.0 (final) and I would like to upgrade to 0.8.167.0 (RC2). Since you suggest I need to upgrade to RC1 First I need to download it from somewhere. Where can I get RC1?

Thanks

I have the same question. where can I find the RC1 setup?

Also, how can I backup my data? The SQL Server database named "bugnet" is completely blank ! It remains completely empty as it was when I first installed bugnet. According to the instractions you should create ablank database and run the install.aspx ,....

If you can hold off another day there will be a new release where you won't have to jump through the extra hoops to upgrade.
