0.7 Beta 1 Released
Modified By admin on 11/13/2006 5:28:30 PM)

The first beta of 0.7 has been released.  This is a big step forward for the project moving to the .NET 2.0 framework.  It has been a long time coming and I would like to all those who played a part to get there.

You can get the new release from sourceforge.

Below is a list of some of the new features in the 0.7 version:

  • Numerous bug fixes from 0.6.7 on.
  • Moved to the ASP.NET 2.0 application framework
  • Updated rich text editor using the FCKEditor
  • Custom fields
  • Fixed in version field
  • Due date field
  • Road map report
  • Private issues
  • New membership system using ASP.NET 2.0 Membership Provider
  • My issues page
  • Project administration and application configuration layout changes
  • Redesigned reports using the microsoft report viewer
  • Microsoft atlas UI improvements
  • Improved application logging using Log4Net
There is a lot of new functionality in this release and we will continue to evolve 0.7 to a final release as soon as possible.

Release Information
  •  This version of BugNET is beta and not recommended for deployment to critical production type environments but is a means to test new features and provide user feedback to the community.
  • Due to the significant changes in the user roles system when upgrading from 0.66,  users and assignments to projects have been migrated but custom roles and assignment to roles have not been migrated.  By default the application will install five default roles in which users can be assigned through the administration panel.
  • Users in which passwords are less than 7 characters do not meet the password requirements will be randomly generated.  The user must use the lost password functionality if he/she can not login to have their password mailed to them.
Please read the installation instructions included with the release or here.
