Custom field

Hello,

I'm missing a field of type "Estimated workload" in mandays at the issue level. Is it something that you could add to the next version?

More globally, if I want to add custom fields (to an issue for instance), what is the recommended way to do? (I mean, are there dedicated and well-identified locations in the code where to customize the code, for instance?).

Hi,

As the project evolves we have to resist the temptation to add fields (how ever useful they are) to the bug database or our bug entry / edit screen would be full of fields and make it hard and unmanageable for users to use. We do however provide custom fields as apart of the 0.7 version (currently in beta) that allows you to define custom fields / attributes at the project level. It is recommended that you use this functionality as aposed to adding the field directly to the Bug table in the database etc.

I agree on the principle (and to have the possibility of custom fields is great) but estimation is a full part of time management. I find quite a pitty that bugnet only implements half of it, ie. the used time and not the budgeted one. Well, that's only my opinion after all...

After reading a bit more I agree with your comments on adding this field and it is pretty common to see this in other issue trackers. I will add it as a new feature and we will add it in the future.
