After evaluating v0.8 RC2, I would like to use it in my workplace for a real project. I am wondering if the current build is suitable for serious use or if I should wait for the final release or use v0.7 (which I have not evaluated). I suppose my main concern is the possibly long wait between now and the final release, observing that RCs have been the status for ~10 months now.

There will be a new release of 0.8 this evening. I wrapped up testing and final preparations last night late in the evening and will be upgrade the live installation this evening. It is basically a stability patch that fixes a lot of issues. I would say you could use it for live work. I do on support.bugnetproject.com but I would review any outstanding issues just make sure that they don't collide with your goals.

Can you confirm that the new 'BugNET 0.8.193.0' is a final, stable release for 0.8 series?
I only ask because it does not have the word 'final' after it like the 0.7 series.  It no longer carries the RC tag though.

0.8.193 is not the final release of 0.8, there will be many more releases to come.  The best advice I can suggest is to install / upgrade it and try it out but make a backup incase you want to rollback.   There will be no further upgrades to the 0.7 releases in the future.
