First off, I would like to commend the developers on a superb effort.  I have been evaluating several different open source/public license issue tracking and project management systems for use within our relatively small IT group.  Without a doubt, you guys have one of the smoothest interfaces out of all of them.  It is a straight forward approach that I really think streamlines the entry and tracking of items for a development project.  With that being said, I think I have narrowed it down to between you software and a product called "The Bug Genie".  In some regards, BugNet and Bug Genie are quite similar.  Especially in the customization of the system itself.  Bug Genie does have some other bells and whistles in it like an internal messaging system but that really doesn't interest me as much in a small development environment.  One thing, however, that is being introduced into the next version of Bug Genie is a project statistics page which renders graphical charts showing the user exactly how the project stands.  Currently, there are about a half dozen or more charts that may be rendered and there is no customization that I can see, but it definitely beats having to export the data into excel and create pivot charts or something of that nature.  So the question is, are there any plans on incorporating this type of feature into future versions of BugNET?  I definitely think that something like this would push you guys over the top.  Some examples of charts would be open/closed issue trends, percentage/number of issues by severity, etc... Anyway,  I appreciate your time, and again, great job.

BTW...one other recommendation I would have for future versions...do not allow the user to unauthorize access to the default admin account ;-).   I found this out the hard way without having another privileged account and had to get into the db to fix it...

Regards,

Garrett

Update:  After posting this message...I did a quick search for open source charting solutions for ASP.NET and came across a fairly nice package offered by InfoSoft Global called FusionCharts Free.  The package is GPL or MIT licensed and contains examples for using in various web solutions including ASP.NET with C#.   The website is http://www.fusioncharts.com/free/.

Thank you for the feedback.  We are looking to add reports / statistics in the future.  Microsoft also provides the asp.net web chart control which is pretty cool as well. I will take a look at the link you provided.

Hi, BugNET has also been working well for my team. I also would be very interested in historical charting/graphing/trending information. E.g. trend chart showing open, closed, resolved bug counts over time. Or at a minimum in the short term being able to export the data needed for those charts so I can build in Excel or some other charting tool.

Kudos Garrett! For speaking on behalf of many of us who finds it difficult to express our gratitude of appreciation in words.

In addition to your request it will be 9ce for BugNet to report the count of items in a particular category. Hopefully the report/statistics will take care of my little request.

Until then, we are truly grateful for what BugNet has for us.
