Another option would be to support drag and drop. That's more convinient, but probably harder to implement. Bulk editing is on the roadmap for version 0.8.  You can find it logged as issue # 331 in the issue tracker.
I took a look at those links and both look very interesting.  I am guessing that it will most likely be implemented as check boxes but the drag and drop would be very cool.
