Requiring custom fields

I've been trying to make use of required custom fields, but have run into problems. The required fields only seem to be visible on the edit page; not on insert. When users enter an initial issue, I'd like these custom fields to appear there and if required, force an input prior to inserting the issue. As it is now, users are creating new issues and never entering the custom fields. Am I missing something?

Unfortunatly you can not have custom fields on the add page. The next major version will have thsi though, version 0.8.

Does this mean that any custom fields will also be included as filters? It would be nice to be able to search on a custom field.

You bet! Work has already begun on this functionality. Custom queries will be a big part of the next major release.
