SMTP sending problems

Does anybody know of any reason why if an error occurs, the error handler is able to send an email to me reporting it, but I am not able to send notification emails? The code seems to complete the send, but I never receive anything. Thanks in advance.

Are you able to access the SMTP server in order to check logs?

Are you testing notifications using the same address the error reports are coming through on?

Have you verfied that the email addresses are correct in the BugNET.aspNet_Membership table (no strange chars or spaces etc.)?
